Warrens Bakery, the oldest pasty maker in the world, officially opened the doors to its new Weston-super-Mare store this week, 165 years after its first shop was opened in Cornwall. The town’s Mayor, Councillor Martin Williams, cut the ribbon to the recently restored shop alongside Craig Wood and the team from Warrens Bakery.

Located on 57 High Street, the new bakery invited local councillors and customers to its first day of business to enjoy free freshly brewed tea and coffee and the store’s famous pasties. The shop, which will be open seven days a week, has created a number of full time and part time jobs in the town.
The Weston-super-Mare store marks continuing success and expansion for Warrens Bakery, one of Cornwall’s most well known and loved brands, and will be its 45th shop. From its original bakery on the cobbled streets of St Just, its shops now stretch across the South West and beyond and can also be found in Bath Spa, Basingstoke, Cardiff and Slough railway stations.
Craig Wood, Warrens Bakery’s Assistant Retail Director said, ‘We’re delighted that 165 years after opening our first ever shop, Weston-super-Mare is now home to our 45th Warrens Bakery. We’re very proud to be part of the town’s high street and to have created jobs for the local community. We’re looking forward to meeting all our new customers and introducing them to our iconic pasties and other crafted baked goods”.

Weston-super-Mare’s Mayor, Councillor Martin Williams added, “It’s really exciting to have Warrens Bakery in Weston-super-Mare. It’s such a renowned bakery in the West Country so it’s brilliant to have them on our high street. It’s going to be fantastic for our town centre and I hope they will be very busy“.
Established in 1860, Warrens Bakery has remained committed to provenance, artisanal craftsmanship and innovative flavours while honouring beloved traditional recipes, ensuring that it caters to all tastes and occasions.
