We’re excited to share that the organisation that was Taste of the West has now been re-established as a Community Interest Company (CIC) — a big step forward in our mission to revive and protect this much-loved organisation. The new organisation is called TOTW CIC, and will trade as Taste of the South West. TOTW CIC officially became an organisation on the 1st of July.
But why has it been set up as a CIC?
A CIC (Community Interest Company) is a special type of company designed to benefit the community rather than private shareholders. This means that TOTW CIC will be run with values at its heart, not profits — ensuring that everything we do supports our members, local producers, and the wider food and drink community in the South West.
