Burleigh Court heats things up: A sizzling collaboration with wine expert Cicely Elliott-Berry

Burleigh Court Hotel, the charming Cotswold retreat nestled between Stroud and Minchinhampton, recently ignited an exciting new partnership, taking their culinary offerings to a whole new level. The historic country hotel, known for its stunning valley views and commitment to sustainability, teamed up with renowned wine expert and entrepreneur Cicely Elliott-Berry to celebrate the launch of their bespoke outdoor grill and terrace kitchen.

Cicely, a prominent figure in the British drinks scene, is the visionary Director and Co-Founder of the award-winning Sibling Distillery in Cheltenham, celebrated for its handcrafted gins. She also co-owns Our House, a vibrant new wine and cocktail bar in Gloucester. Her expertise was on full display as she presided over an exclusive evening, meticulously pairing a unique wine with every course, all prepared fresh from Burleigh Court’s new al fresco cooking space.

Tom Leahy giving a helping hand

The evening was a true test for the new outdoor kitchen, with resident fire-cooking guru and Head Chef Duncan Wales putting the grill through its paces. Guests savoured dishes expertly crafted using the new equipment, demonstrating Burleigh Court’s ambition to become more than just a hotel, but a must-visit foodie destination for everyone to enjoy.

“It was great to have Cicely come along and talk to the guests about the wine and drink choices,” said Tom Leahy, one of the hotel’s managers. “We think we have something here that appeals to all, especially in the summer. Friday and Saturday nights are BBQ and pizza on the terrace, while the restaurant and private dining are also available.”

Leahy added, “The new cooking area in the terrace is exciting, and I enjoyed getting involved with the cooking. The food looked almost as good as the views from the garden over the valleys.”

This collaboration marks an exciting new chapter for Burleigh Court as they expand their horizons, planning further partnerships with external food and drink companies. Get ready to experience the Cotswolds’ newest destination for al fresco dining and expertly paired libations.
