All results and winners are verified by an independent adjudicator, with entrants receiving the opportunity to benefit from invaluable product feedback provided by the panel.
Food Drink Devon Chair, Greg Parsons, comments: “Earlier in the year we were excited to announce a brand new award, the People’s Choice Award for the Best Hospitality Venue. For the very first time, we handed our judging of an award over to the people who matter most – our community of food and drink lovers to vote for their favourite venue whether it be a standout restaurant, a cosy pub, a charming café or an innovative street food business. The inaugural award received over 1,500 votes for over 100 different businesses. In these difficult times it is more important than ever that we support our local hospitality, retail and food and drink business.”
During the celebratory evening of Devon’s finest food and drink, along with the presentation of the awards, attendees will enjoy a drinks reception and three-course meal created using produce from Food Drink Devon members with all the fruit and vegetables provided by awards sponsor West Country Fruit Sales. At the awards’ ceremony, the dinner will be served by the current cohort of students at the Michael Caines Academy at Exeter College. To celebrate 30 years of Food Drink Devon and its continued growth and success there will be an ‘after show party’ with live music until 1am.
