From Italy to the rest of Europe: Pocketful of Stones expands into six European countries, just weeks after Italy deal

Independent Cornish craft distillery Pocketful of Stones, best known for its innovative spirits and signature Dr Squid Gin, has expanded its European reach once again, this time enabling direct-to-doorstep delivery in Austria, Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, and the Netherlands.

Website orders placed from these six countries can now be fulfilled directly via the distillery’s Dutch warehouse, with reliable two-day delivery. The decision was informed in part by the brand’s continued popularity among European visitors to Cornwall. Tourists from France, Germany, the Netherlands, and beyond frequently discover the distillery in Penzance or Falmouth, only to enquire about shipping options once they return home.

The move is a strategic response to rising demand across continental Europe and a natural progression following Pocketful of Stones’ strong performance in neighbouring markets.

“We’ve had so many conversations over the years with visitors who’ve fallen in love with the likes of Dr Squid Gin or Hell’s Stone Whisky while they’re on holiday in Cornwall, and want to know how they can get it when they’re back in Berlin, Brussels, or Bordeaux,” said Mike Cunliffe, Co-Founder of Pocketful of Stones. “This new delivery setup means we can finally say yes – and with fast, easy service straight to their door.”

The launch comes on the heels of Pocketful of Stones’ recent market entry in Italy, as well as its growing presence in Switzerland, Austria, and Hungary. Despite broader challenges in global logistics and production, the distillery has sustained double-digit export growth across the EU, supported by increased capacity at its Penzance base and key infrastructure investment.

With its distinctive Cornish identity, commitment to quality, and growing cult following, Pocketful of Stones is now well-positioned to build deeper relationships with customers across northern and western Europe.

“This is more than just new shipping zones. It’s a way to keep sharing Cornwall with the people who love it,” added Cunliffe. “Our story, our spirits, and the landscape they come from, now available to more of our European fans than ever before.”
