The Nare, the country house hotel by the sea set on the Roseland Peninsula, has won a coveted Good Hotel Guide 2026 César Award for Best Seaside Hotel – reinforcing The Nare as one of the leading 5* hotels in the South West.
The Césars are awarded to hotels, inns and B&Bs which are outstanding in their category. Hotels are reviewed by an anonymous Good Hotel Guide inspector following reports from readers whose judgments are trusted, making it the only truly independent hotel guide in the UK.
The Nare received the accolade at the prestigious Good Hotel Guide Awards on November 18th 2025. The family-owned hotel is steeped in quintessential charm and stands alone above beautiful Carne beach, where golden sands stretch towards Nare Head. Earlier this year, The Nare launched The Quarterdeck Seafood Restaurant as a celebration of the finest, locally-sourced seafood, offering guests and non-residents the very best of the stunning sea views.
The Good Hotel César Award comes hot on the heels of winning the Condé Nast Johansens Award for Excellence 2026 for Best Waterside Hotel.
Toby Ashworth, hotel proprietor, said: “We are very proud to have won not one, but two reputable accolades. It is true recognition for our dedicated team who work incredibly hard to deliver exemplary service and comfort to our guests. These awards reaffirm and recognise the personal and unobtrusive traditional service for which we are renowned, providing for families of all generations. We have been delivering this for many years and will continue to do so.”
