Butcombe Brewing Co. is proud to announce that one of its most popular beers, Butcombe Original, is now being served in the Strangers’ Bar at the House of Commons thanks to local Labour MP for North Somerset Sadik Al-Hassan.

Renowned for its rich, malty character and smooth, full-bodied flavour, Butcombe Original has long been a favourite across the South West – outranking the likes of Doombar and Tribute. Its arrival in one of the UK’s most iconic institutions is a testament to the beer’s enduring appeal and growing national recognition.
Jayson Perfect, COO, Butcombe Brewing Co, says: “We’re delighted to see Butcombe Original poured in the heart of Westminster. It’s a proud moment for our team and a nod to the quality and consistency that’s defined Butcombe for over four decades. The House of Commons bar is known for showcasing standout regional brews, offering MPs and guests a taste of Britain’s brewing excellence. Butcombe Original’s inclusion reflects its status as a modern classic.”
Simultaneously, Butcombe Brewing Co’s Rare Breed Pale Ale – a collaboration with TV personality Adam Henson – will also be pouring at the pumps in The House of Lords.
Sadik Al-Hassan, MP for North Somerset says: “It was wonderful to see North Somerset’s own Butcombe Original being served in Strangers, the House of Commons Bar on Wednesday. It was brilliant to pull a pint and taste such a great beer in this very special place. Butcombe’s award-winning beer is a real point of pride for our constituency and a testament to the quality of businesses we have here in North Somerset. Breweries like Butcombe are crucial to the South-West economy, and I’m delighted that MPs and visitors to Parliament from across the country will now be able to responsibly experience what makes our region so special.”
This latest pour follows a year of success for Butcombe, with increased listings across the UK and a growing reputation for championing quality, characterful beer rooted in British brewing heritage.
