‘You Me and Umami’, the newest venture from restaurateur Foyez Rahman and his wife Caitlin, officially welcomed guests to its Lechlade, Gloucestershire restaurant on 3 December 2025.

Local businesses, friends and family gathered to celebrate the opening of Lechlade’s newest dining spot — and Foyez’s first pan-Asian restaurant — situated right in the centre of town at the former Red Lion Inn.
More than 100 guests enjoyed tasters from the new menu, with dishes circulating throughout the evening and earning enthusiastic praise. One guest commented on the restaurant’s “cool, vibe, Asian-inspired, décor,” setting the tone for an exciting addition to the town’s culinary scene.
Foyez, who also runs Sasa’s Indian Kitchen and Bar in Crudwell, Wiltshire, will be overseeing the new restaurant, which currently plans to open evenings only, offering both dine-in and takeaway options.
Reflecting on the night, Foyez said: “It was a great evening; I am so grateful to all that came along. We opened it to everyone in the end, via our social channels, so keep an eye on what we do on there. We are not one of those restaurants that excludes, we are about family, as this, for my wife and I, is what this project has been about.”
He added: “There was great feedback from the room on the style of cuisine with samples of our Korean, Japanese and Malay dishes. We are now fully open in the evenings, and if you just fancy a take away, or just a drink at our full bar, come and join us.”
