Flapjackery has appointed Henry Franklin as its new managing director, as co-founder Carol Myott steps into the role of chair.
Franklin joined the business in February 2025 and brings extensive experience in retail, having held senior roles across sales and marketing. He will oversee the continued growth of the business, while maintaining product quality, shop standards and customer experience across Flapjackery’s 17 shops, with a focus on team structure and performance.
Franklin said: “It’s about getting the basics right, consistently. That means maintaining product quality and shop standards, and making sure the customer experience is what it should be every single day. It’s also about having the right people in the right roles, with clear accountability. Good businesses are built by good people.”
The appointment comes as Flapjackery focuses on strengthening its existing shops following a period of expansion, while continuing to develop its online business and presence at shows and events across the UK.
“With costs continuing to rise, the priority is to grow sales while keeping a close handle on costs,” Franklin said. “We opened five shops last year, so the focus now is on making those sites perform as well as possible, while continuing to build the brand in a measured way.” He added: “There’s still significant headroom for the brand, but it’s about growing in a controlled way without losing what makes it work.”
Carol Myott said: “I’m really pleased to see Henry step into this role. He understands the business, the people and what matters to our customers. Flapjackery has grown steadily over the years, and this is the right step to make sure we continue to build on that in the right way.”
Away from the business, Franklin, 48, lives near Exmouth with his wife and two children.
