The Salutation Inn in Topsham has announced the appointment of Chris Simon as its new Head Chef, marking the start of an exciting new chapter for the much-loved venue.
Chris joins the Salutation Inn to lead the kitchen brigade, bringing with him a varied and internationally influenced culinary background. Born on the island of Guernsey in the Channel Islands, he began his professional journey in South Devon, where he honed his skills at Ashburton Cookery School.
From 2016, Chris worked internationally as a private chef, cooking aboard luxury super yachts and further developing his craft alongside Michelin-starred chefs in the Mediterranean. In 2019, he returned to Devon, where he went on to take ownership of an award-winning gastro pub in the South Hams. Now stepping into his new role at the Salutation Inn, Chris is excited by the opportunity to explore the exceptional local produce the area has to offer and to work closely with the team. He is also looking forward to getting to know the inn’s customers and supporters as he settles into the kitchen.
The appointment signals an enthusiastic next phase for the Salutation Inn, as Chris brings together his broad experience with a passion for quality ingredients and thoughtful cooking.
