Chef Adam Handling MBE is bringing back the AHC Food Festival for a second year running, after the huge success of last October’s event, at which over 2,000 people attended the festivities.
To kick off the summer months, the festival is returning even bigger and better than last year, on 12th-14th June at The Tartan Fox – Adam’s luxury pub in the picturesque countryside between Truro and Newquay. This event will showcase the best of the Adam Handling Collection (AHC), bringing the restaurants, pubs, bars and shops together again.
Set across a jam-packed weekend of food, fun and fire, the full force of the AHC will host three unforgettable days of chef demos, live music, wine masterclasses and blind tastings, cocktails, an artisan market and delicious dishes straight from the teams at Frog by Adam Handling, Ugly Butterfly, The Loch & the Tyne, The Tartan Fox and the Adam Handling Chocolate Shop.
1-PIN awarded Eve bar will be offering a signature selection of cocktails and the AH own label English sparkling wine stall will be out in full force too.
Over in Fox Cub’s Corner, there is plenty to keep the children entertained, with everything from face painting to toasting marshmallows over the fire. Clear your schedules, as they’ll be begging you to come back the next day for more festival fun!
The festival will begin at midday on Friday 12th June, with an Opening Night Lobster Feast taking place in the pub’s tipi from 7pm. Feasting nights will continue on the Saturday (7pm) and Sunday (6pm) too, with tickets available here.
Guests can expect a range of dishes from across the AHC for just £10 each, including: The Loch & the Tyne’s ‘Cheese Doughnuts’, The Tartan Fox’s ‘Fried courgette flower, goat’s cheese, thyme & honey’, as well as Michelin-starred restaurant Frog’s ‘BBQ saddle of lamb, cauliflower puree, Jerusalem artichoke, capers’ and for £20 Ugly Butterfly’s ‘Steamed cod, white beans, lobster ragu, Ahrelia caviar’. Three or four dishes per person are recommended to experience the variety and flavour of the Collection.*
Join the leading team from each of the AHC sites, including Paul Stradling, Head Chocolatier from Adam Handling Chocolate Shop, for a series of masterclasses and food demos, including: ‘Blind wine tastings with Kelvin McCabe’ and ‘Exploring Cornwall’s Larder with Jamie Park’. Adam himself will also be hosting a ‘3 course meal with Adam Handling’ chef demo on each of the days.
The food demos will be taking place in the pub’s barn throughout the weekend, with team members from each location sharing tips about how to create some of the Collection’s most-loved dishes. All food masterclasses will be complimentary and first come, first served.
Live music from the likes of local musician Josh Curnow and Blues & folk musician, Rhys ‘Grizzly’ Morgan will be playing throughout each of the days.
The Tartan Fox will also remain open as usual for food and drinks for the duration of the festival weekend. For those keen to enjoy the weekend from start to finish, camping is available through Carvynick Holiday Park.
The Tartan Fox is Chef Adam Handling’s Cornish pub that opened in June 2024, offering menus that have been created using the best Cornish produce and Adam’s pivotal zero-waste ethos, just a short distance from the Collection’s stunning coastal restaurant, Ugly Butterfly 2.0. Tucked away in the Cornish forest, the 400-year-old Grade II listed pub is a community-focused local, as well as the ultimate countryside retreat for foodies.
* Guests can purchase food and drink vouchers on the day, which can then be redeemed with any of the team on their food and drink stalls.
Can’t make the food festival, but still want to experience Tartan Fox feasting? Never fear – the team will be hosting feast nights on the first Friday of every month until the end of the year.
