Hotel VARA Truro promotes Eliot Lynch to Hotel Manager

Truro’s independent Hotel VARA has appointed Eliot Lynch as its new Hotel Manager, marking the next chapter for a familiar face who has helped shape the hotel’s identity over the past four years.
Having joined the team in 2022, Eliot is well known for his warm welcome, local knowledge & approachable style. His promotion comes as Hotel VARA continues to strengthen its reputation as one of Cornwall’s most innovative multi-use hospitality hubs.
Eliot developed a passion for hospitality whilst helping establish his family’s pub in Wiltshire, but the pull of the coast brought him & his wife to Cornwall, where he joined the Hotel VARA team. His people-first approach perfectly reflects Hotel VARA’s ethos of offering relaxed, genuine hospitality without unnecessary formality.
Hotel VARA Director Tim Brocklebank said, “We are very fortunate to have Eliot on our team & his promotion was a natural progression. Our guests know him, our team respect him because he leads with warmth, authenticity & genuine care for people. He always takes the time to converse with guests in their own languages, always going above & beyond in everything he does. We’re very proud to see him step up into this role.”
Eliot said, “I am incredibly proud to step into the role of Hotel Manager. Having been part of the team for four great years, I am excited to build on everything that makes Hotel VARA so distinctive.”
Eliot continued, “One of the things I’ve always loved about Hotel VARA is that we do things differently. We are independent, people-first & pride ourselves on being efficient & professional without feeling overly corporate. I will continue to champion this in my new role.”
The appointment comes as Hotel VARA celebrates five years under its current ownership, during which the business has been transformed, & its distinct positioning has created a model that is less reliant on seasonal tourism while serving business travellers, leisure guests & the local community alike.
Today, the hotel offers 30 affordable guest rooms, flexible meeting & event spaces, free on-site parking, EV charging & its signature ‘More Than Breakfast’, a lighter European-inspired breakfast designed to suit modern travel habits.
Located on leafy Falmouth Road, just a short walk from Truro city centre, Hotel VARA continues to redefine what an independent hotel can be by combining thoughtful design, operational innovation & genuinely personal service.
