Cold draught pints are flowing once again in Falmouth’s largest beer garden, bringing the complete “Fives vibes” back outdoors at Fives Cyderhouse. Visitors can now settle into the garden and enjoy hand-stretched pizzas topped with Cornish ingredients alongside a cold pint of Healeys Rattler Cyder.
Laura Clerehugh, Head of Hospitality at Healeys Cyder, said “We’re delighted that customers can once again enjoy the full Fives experience in our gardens. September is a wonderful time of year in Cornwall – we often enjoy beautiful weather, Falmouth still has a fantastic atmosphere and there’s so much to see and do without the height-of-summer rush.
“With draught drinks available in the beer garden, a new food menu now launched and plenty of cold drinks waiting at the bar, it’s the perfect time to come along and see us. We’re incredibly proud of the team and can’t wait to welcome locals, students and visitors throughout September and beyond.”
The return of draught drinks service to the venue’s outdoor areas follows confirmation of the licence extension and coincides with the launch of a brand-new food menu.
Alongside the return of several Fives favourites and a refresh of its popular food deals, the venue has introduced three different pizza sizes: 9, 12 and 15 inches. The new 15-inch pizza menu is a first for Fives, offering the same homemade dough and much-loved flavours – just more of them.
Every pizza is prepared from scratch in-house, with fresh dough made each morning using a special blend of organic Shipton Mill flours. Each base is hand-stretched to order and topped with high-quality Cornish ingredients sourced from local farms, growers, producers and artisans wherever possible.
Located opposite the National Maritime Museum, Fives has the largest beer garden in Falmouth. Its rear garden is arranged across two levels and now includes a newly added decking area.
Sheltered and warm when the Cornish sun appears, the rear garden provides an inviting spot for drinks and dining outdoors. During the winter, the garden areas are fully covered, making them a comfortable and consistent space throughout the year.
Jon Newton, General Manager at Fives Cyderhouse, said “It’s great to be able to make full use of our outside areas again. There’s nothing better than sipping an ice-cold beer or cocktail in the Cornish sunshine while catching up with friends and family, and we’re delighted to be able to offer that complete experience once more.
“The past few months have been challenging for the business, particularly during such a warm summer but the team at Fives has dealt with everything remarkably well. We’re delighted with the outcome and can’t wait to see what the next few months bring. We’d also like to thank all our regulars for their ongoing support – it really does mean a lot to us.
“We pride ourselves on being far more than a pub. Our close-knit team has created a relaxed and friendly atmosphere where regulars, neighbours, students and newcomers to Falmouth are all equally welcome. Fives is a place where people can come together, enjoy freshly made food and a cold drink, watch the sport or simply catch up with friends. We love being part of the Falmouth community and want everyone who walks through our doors to feel at home.”
With more than 10 draught lines, freshly prepared pizzas served throughout the week and Sky Sports showing the biggest fixtures, Fives offers something for every occasion.
As an active member of Falmouth BID, Fives is also pleased to play its part in the town’s community and support Cornwall’s hospitality industry, suppliers and producers.
