The team at Bath’s beautifully boutique proposition, The Queensberry Hotel is ensuring a right royal good time over the Jubilee weekend and has created a stylish cocktail in honour of her Majesty’s seventy-year long reign. Every guest that is staying in the hotel on Saturday 4th June will receive a complimentary Dubonnet Negroni on arrival (should they wish to accept this).

The Dubonnet Negroni has been made from what is believed to be one of the Queen’s personal favourite drinks, the herb-infused Dubonnet. It is said that this rich red wine-based aperitif can often be found in the royal household and that her Majesty herself enjoys two parts Dubonnet and one part gin as her favourite cocktail, a tipple that her mother was also said to appreciate.
With this in mind, the hotel’s gifted sommelier has crafted this cocktail using Dubonnet, gin and Campari. Replacing the Vermouth with the Dubonnet, provides a richer flavour which is complimented by the Slingsby Rhubarb gin which brings a new layer to the drink. It is certainly a sophisticated sipper fit for the Queen herself to be enjoyed by her subjects on this momentous occasion!
The Dubonnet Negroni will also be available to purchase from the hotel’s Q-Bar over the weekend as well as in The Olive Tree Restaurant, Bath’s only Michelin Star awarded restaurant, nestled in the basement of the hotel.

Hotel owner, Laurence Beere said, “As a team, we draw a number of parallels with her Majesty. That of a stoic work ethic, commitment to our duty and service, ongoing dedication, in our case to the business and an admirable resilience. We couldn’t simply sit back and do nothing on this momentous occasion, it is in our namesake! We look forward to collectively raising a glass in celebration of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth is a remarkable monarch and has had a remarkable reign. That calls for the creation of a remarkable cocktail wouldn’t you say?”
Laurence continued, “If staying with us on Saturday 4th June, you will be delighted to be offered a Dubonnet Negroni on arrival to help ease you into your stay and as a ceremonious cheers to this historically significant milestone. As ever, we so look forward to welcoming you.”

One of the most unique places to stay in Bath, the multi-award-winning Queensberry Hotel is made up of four beautiful grade II listed Georgian townhouses in the city, which owners, Helen and Laurence Beere converted into a luxury boutique hotel in 1987. They believe a room in a unique and individual hotel should be a little like a beautiful guest room in the house of stylish friends. But each room should look like it’s in a different house, belonging to different friends. For this reason, no two rooms at The Queensberry Hotel are the same. All of them gorgeous, but, thanks to the recent care lavished on the 29 rooms, they all offer the same level of experience and incredible attention to detail.
From open plan and spacious doubles to lovely comfy and club rooms to the uber luxe four poster suite, complete with a gargantuan seven-foot square of a bed overlooking Bath’s Russel Street, different guests come for different reasons with various budgets. So every single one of the hotel’s rooms offers something for all without sacrificing comfort, individuality, character, attention to detail, and style.
The Queensberry Hotel boasts an incredible team of dedicated individuals committed to providing an entirely bespoke personal service for each and every guest. Each of its rooms exudes its own charm and has been lovingly and individually designed by award winning interior designers and experts at styling period properties like theirs, Etons of Bath. In addition, it is home to Bath’s only Michelin-starred restaurant, The Olive Tree. With exceptionally talented Executive Head Chef, Chris Cleghorn at the helm, The Olive Tree Restaurant menu can only be described as ‘striking, delicious and frequently changing’, showcasing all of the high-quality artisan food producers worth their salt round the Westcountry.
