Get ready, Central Perk fans! Your dinner plans are about to get a hilarious and delicious makeover. Téatro Piano Bar and Restaurant in Cirencester is rolling out a brand-new menu featuring dishes inspired by the iconic US sitcom, Friends! Fancy a ‘Moist-Maker‘ or perhaps a ‘Shepherds Trifle‘ for your main course or dessert?
This incredible culinary tribute celebrates Téatro’s neighbor, The Barn Theatre, which is hosting ‘Friends! The Musical Parody‘ from July 14 to August 23. This side-splitting musical comedy, packed with all your favourite moments from 10 seasons of Friends, is fresh from New York and Las Vegas, making Cirencester its first UK stop before a nationwide tour and a much-anticipated West End run!
Chef Alex Towler and Bar Manager Arran Fowler have cooked up some truly special creations, pulling inspiration directly from the show’s most memorable food mishaps and masterpieces. Arran explains the infamous dishes: “The Moist-Maker was created by character Joey, to make sure a meat sandwich is always juicy by adding a gravy-soaked other layer of bread. While the trifle was, and I have to say this, the one where Ross and Joey, who discover that two of the pages in Monica’s cookbook are stuck together, and her English trifle is actually half shepherd’s pie. Rachel does not realise her mistake when she confuses a minced meat pie for a mince pie.”
But don’t worry, Chef Alex assures us you won’t be getting a dessert that tastes like feet! “Can I just say that is not actually what we are serving, but our take on these, which, I think you will enjoy. Here is a clue, there is no actual mincemeat in our dessert. Arran is also working on some special themed cocktails and there will be no meat in those either.”
Téatro Piano Bar and Restaurant is open Monday to Saturday evenings, with convenient pre-theatre dining options, and also for Sunday lunch. They offer a delightful range of small plates, perfect for enjoying in their garden.
